Dead Horse One - French band Dead Horse One combine a heavy three-guitar attack with lush, psych-tinged dream pop shoe gaze textures. Following a series of smaller releases, they established themselves across Europe in the mid 2010s, issuing a pair of well-received albums and playing alongside like-minded forebears such as Ride, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and Nothing. The group’s third LP, The West Is The Best, was released at the end of 2019. After this, their sound became heavier and more intense, especially on 2024’s Seas Of Static.

Formed in the southern French city of Valence, the band take influence from groups like Swervedriver, Ride, and The Telescopes. The band developed a melodic mix of heavy shoe gaze and droning noise rock. For their full-length debut, Dead Horse One hired Ride’s frontman Mark Gardener as producer, and Without Love We Perish was released on the Dead Bees label in 2014.
