Mi.el
Ming’s fingerpicking style in alternate tunings and Ellie’s melodic bass lines are to the core of who Mi.el are. In May they began to release their self-produced debut EP ‘Grains of Sand’ with the first single ‘She Will Be Gone’, marking the start of what they like to call “A sonic journey through the desert at sunset while riding on a horse”.
Bread Forever
Bread Forever is a folk electronica band from London. Mixing influences from Maribou State, Sylvan Esso, Khruangbin all the way to Aphex Twin and back, their soulful approach aims to tug at heartstrings whilst getting the foot tapping.
Kite Show
Kite Show formed in the late summer of 2023, and self-released their debut EP Liminal Places in January 2024. The band is made up of Lilka (singer), Rowan (guitar), Jon (bass) and Jack (drums), four northerners now based in and around London. Kite Show’s music is all about contrast and fluctuation, whether that’s through mashing disparate genres together, or through juxtaposing soft, light vocals against heavy, rich instrumentals. Sharp shifts in tempo and tone propel songs away from the original direction of travel, but they are generally tethered in place by their familiar themes of connection to others and our surroundings, including time passing, familial birth and loss, and the energy that friendships conjure, within ourselves and externally, in our environments.
Nikita Faie
"'Nikita Faie:' we think means enchantress... and an enchanting voice she has." - BBC's LEO ULPH
Classically trained at Trinity Laban Conservatoire, Nikita Faie is a neurodivergent alternative artist from Kent. Think Stevie Nicks meets Ludovico Einaudi. Her debut ep INSOMNIAC, supported by Help Musicians, explores themes of sleepless nights, loss & mental health. Earlier this year, Nikita introduced her distinctive style with the release of Your Ghost, which features operatic sections & was brought to life through an intimate, one-take music video.
Nikita’s work is visually & sonically captivating, with the EP’s title track featuring a stop-motion pixilation video. Collaborations like her Baroque & Roll arrangement with guitarist Patrick Hinds breathe new life into 17th-century composer Barbara Strozzi’s Che si può fare.
By pushing boundaries, Nikita Faie is making her mark on the independent music scene, inviting listeners into a world that is as haunting as it is beautiful.
