Where's Piers?

From the beginning, the state of being immersed within a world has defined me. I was partially deaf until I had an operation at 6; which, combined with a case of ADHD, developed a rich inner world and imagination within me that carries through to today. Musically, I was always much more drawn to creating my own ideas, and at 16 I was encouraged by a teacher to explore the world of poetry. This led me down a path for the next few years as I developed my skills as a writer and gained a degree in English Literature in the process. However, I felt that the traditional poet’s route of trying to get published wasn’t for me, and instead my path lay in bringing my words together with my passion for music in order to add another dimension to the worlds I was creating. I developed my story-telling musically and in the process released an album of ambient music last autumn (alias Dreamwader). However, I learnt a key lesson after it got very little attention: the need for community and connection to the outside world. This has motivated everything I have done since then as I have taken my musical blend of the poetic, the experimental and the truthful to the community beyond my door.
