The Roves

Rock and Roll outlaws!

The Roves' music embodies a timeless quality, prioritizing songwriting without appearing pretentious or losing its inherent simplicity. As bands like The Roves have been missing from the music scene for some time, their resurgence coincides perfectly with the revival of indie sleaze. Their sound represents the gentler aspect of the genre: rock without harshness and indie sleaze minus the sleaze.

Their musical style is reminiscent of Teenage Fanclub, evoking a small-town atmosphere with sincere, hazy vocals. "Archway Blues" seamlessly transitions into a heart-wrenching lament accompanied by nostalgic guitar tones. The song's dynamic crescendo culminates in a soaring chorus, delivered in a distinctly Dylan-like fashion. The Roves excel in crafting a timeless sound, and with a touch of wistfulness, they suggest their potential for greatness. Don't miss their performance at the Mascara Bar on April 7th.
